Secure Office Client

Secure Office Client (SOC) is the Secure Office client software bundle, a single control panel that provides smart card services and the client interface for additional Secure Office modules. When your organisation extends its security capabilities to include user certification, certified network logon or VPN protection, all necessary client-side components are already in place, so SOC also serves as a low-cost, lightweight entry to organisation-wide PKI security.

SOC is the cornerstone of the Secure Office line of authentication/encryption products, providing the client-end software for smart card authentication in a wide range of network applications, web-servers, e-mail programs and local workstations. SOC also provides the VPN client.

In it’s fundamental configuration, SOC provides smart card logon to stand-alone PCs (not part of a network) and enables smart card authentication for PKI services. This allows an organisation to use existing “hard” smart cards or soft certificates to digitally sign any file (e-mail, pdf, ppt, doc, exe etc) to guarantee the integrity of communications and product downloads, to sign/decrypt e-mail and for web-client authentication.

SOC establishes a smart card barrier to the PC and then links the smart card to your browser and e-mail programs.

Within a Secure Office network infrastructure, SOC smart card logon is adapted to NT, Active Directory and Novell e-Directory networks, thin-client computing (Terminal Servers), web servers (Web Access Control), secure use of remote administration software such as Tivoli, NetOp or Telnet (Remote Logon), TCP/IP mediated applications (Port Control), and the Secure Office VPN with Single Sign On and role-based access control using smart card identification of the user.
